Tragedy at the Kerrigan Household

Professional figure skater Nancy Kerrigan’s father Daniel has passed away. He and her brother Mark were involved in an argument when “the argument became physical, he grabbed his father around the neck, and at some point the father collapsed to the floor”. Mark was drunk when officers arrived at the home and he was so violent that they needed to use pepper spray. Mark was recently set free from jail and was living with his parents while getting counseling and taking medication for post traumatic stress disorder due to his experience in the army.

Gary Coleman Arrested

Actor Gary Coleman of the 80’s sitcom Diff’rent Strokes was arrested on a warrant for domestic violence yesterday, not that long after being released from the hospital for health problems a few weeks ago. He had a roller-coaster relationship with his wife Shannon Price but there is no confirmation that the violence was against her.

J.T. Gets Hasty Pudding

Harvard will be honoring singer, songwriter, producer and actor Justin Timberlake as 2010 Man of the Year with the Hasty Pudding Award on February 5th. J.T. will star in the upcoming film The Social Network that was filmed at Harvard University and tells the story about the inventor of Facebook. He was also one of the stars who dedicated their time and performed for the Haiti telethon Friday.

Norwegian Lights

Citizens of Norway got a surprise when they awoke this morning to see a light in the dark sky shaped like a spiral with a blue tail that looked like some type of cosmic wonder. It is thought that the spiral light was the result of a failed test launch of one of Russia’s nuclear weapons. Russian officials admit that they were testing weapons but are not confirming that this was the cause.

Jersey Hotel Room Raided-Weapons Found

Lloyd Woodson of Virginia was taken into custody yesterday after he was seen in a Quick Chek store in Branchburg sporting a bulletproof vest and carrying a concealed semi-automatic weapon. Officers chased him until he was captured while trying to hide in nearby bushes. Authorities then raided his New Jersey hotel room, finding a grenade launcher, rifles, Russian made night vision goggles, police scanner and a map of a military facility. Fox 5 went to the neighborhood where Woodson was from in Virginia and none of the neighbors recognized his photograph. There is currently no known link between Woodson and a terrorist organization but the FBI is continuing the investigation.

PA Woman Murders Pregnant Woman Steals Baby

Andrea Curry-Demus was arrested for cutting the unborn child out of 18-year-old Kia Johnson’s stomach. She murdered her and stuffed her body behind her bed. Curry-Demus had a long history of mental illness so she was charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping. She will serve a life sentence without parole if she is found guilty and will serve part of her sentence in the psychiatric ward of the prison. Johnson’s son Kian is doing well and living with relatives.

Ethiopian Flight Was Heading in Wrong Direction

An Ethiopian Airlines flight including 90 people crashed after catching on fire yesterday in stormy weather and plunging into the sea. The plane was apparently heading in the opposite direction of its destination. The control tower was directing the pilot who suddenly turned the plane and they could no longer see it on the radar. Authorities ruled out terrorism though they aren’t sure why the pilot would choose to fly through such horrible weather when he had radar onboard. There are believed to be no survivors and about 20 bodies have been pulled from sea. The wife to the French ambassador to Lebanon was also on the flight.
